Whats up everybody? Just a quick question that I need an answer to. I have become a serious ice eater. I have to have it everyday all day long. I am constantly chewing on ice. Am I lacking something that is making me eat ice?

Hmmmm....I think it has a correlation with anemia. You can prob find some good info if you google it or maybe webMD

Yes! Sounds like you are anemic. The symptom is called PICA. Some people eat clay, paper, Argo starch, powder or whatever they crave.

You are probably anemic as was stated on the previous post. My ex-wife used to chew on ice all the time...i think she probably still does.

Sounds like you are an anemic, I had the same symptoms and ended up having iron infusion the first time and iron shots the last time. The iron shots are a pain in the butt, that's where you will get the shot. Go and have your lab work.

Treena, you are definitely NOT alone. I eat ICE literally ALL day. I actually buy 10lb bags of ice from the super market. It's a chewing fixation and it's caused by PICA. Yes, you are definitely anemic, the funny this is, I have been this way since my surgery 3 years ago. I have even upped my iron intake (per my MD) and I still eat ice like crazy. I this point, I think it's part addiction, part habit.. I can't stop!!!! Folks keep telling me to stop because I am ruining the enamel on my teeth, but I CAN NOT help it. So I feel your pain. It's sad, because ice has become a snack for me. I actually tell myself that....
